In 2012 I was living in Barcelona doing a minor in Audiovisual Narrative. Later on I grew to work in stills photography only but the other elements of an experience with all the senses always kept me curious. In most recent years I have been working with video and edition and even more recently, with sound. My brain needed to do something new, else than visuals so I could relax that visual part for a bit and sound is a mysterious and infinite field, never to get bored so I got into it as a new hobby. I took a few clases with a group of professional DJ's and I was the only one there who knew nothing nothing about it. But I have always loved music, even was at a Serenata band bringing songs at 5 am to mothers during mother's day and later I had a kids band where I was the drummer, which taught me something about timing. Later on my partner gave me a license to the software and started playing again. Literaly, playing, knowing nothing and just laughing a lot about what I was making. Why couldn't music be comic? It was so strange what was coming out. I never said it was music, it said they are sound experiments. I wanted to share one track to a good friend but the file was too big so I put it on Youtube. Little did I know it would have reached 46K views by now (not the one down here but "The purring Techno cat" mentioned in my channel bellow). I certaintly don't know how that happened there that it got into the algorithm, it is part of the comedy I guess. Also funny, most viewers and followers came from Japan and Russia.
So, 12 years after living in Barcelona I found a poem that I wrote there, about dancing nights in my student time, when I was desperatly looking for myself, a spot where I could be comfortable. I hear that people often should get out of the comfort zone. In my case, it is the need to find a comfortable zone since my natural state is exploration and by definition, not comfortable. But one place where I always felt the closest to myself was dancing. It was like meditation and exercise at the same time. The poem "Dancing nights" I incoporated into a sound composition and footage from a photography event (Sirens of Crete) I worked at in 2021 with the fabulous dancer Miriam Pierzak and the great model Nirmala. I was fearless with the edition of these videos. Blabla, good luck. Here are some of my video experiments, I hope you somehow, get a good experience.
and one home-made experiment made on a Tuesday that felt like a Thursday.
If you want to watch more (which I doubt because each othe ones above are quite an overload for the senses, I am aware) here is the channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K98xJWnRlco&list=PLUqtkt3PSRdMykGkt2rn6Ur13cf4P5lam
